OpenSeas API Web Services Data Layer

After I worked for 3 years managing and enhancing a data warehouse I really wanted to bring something smarter to the organisation for the data needs of the online projects that seemed to be never-ending.  OpenSeas was the solution.  The WSDL is build using Microsoft's WCF and has already had a number of releases to bring it up to today's 6 services, with countless methods in each.

Available through an authenticated server  (openseas.carnivalaustralia.com.au:4443), the WSDL provides methods for all the customers and business partners integration and data needs and includes;

  • Cruise Service
  • Travel Agent Service
  • Customer Service
  • Payment Service
  • Financials Service
  • Logging Service

The WSDL is load balanced on 2 Windows Servers and is supported by SQL Server 2012 Allways-on  on 2 further Windows servers.  Supporting change are dev and test systems.
