Having delivered our corporate intranet in May my development team turned to a whole new challenge; build a multi-brand knowledge base for not only office users but also external users. The requirements were comprehensive but nothing too challenging for sharepoint, however we did develop a number of customised pieces to satisfy the exact needs of the business.Without exception, the authoring of content and rapid deployment was high on the priority list, and SharePoint excelled at this. With one of the call centres off our domain, we needed an extranet solution and so implemented a custom attention provider into our web service layer, utilized by this solution through forms authentication. When our MS true up comes around we should also benefit from this model as CALs are no longer required.
