The Burndown, an Assessment of Concurrent Sprints

I’m currently running 6 sprints to cover 3 funded projects, some BAU work, plus 1 additional and flexible sprint for some BA prep work. One project has 2 distinct objectives, and so benefits from seperate teams, and hence the total of 6 charts.

More about the set-up
The idea is to keep a single product backlog, but enable the teams to work independently on the project goals during the development period. Scrum Teams plan separately, and so start at different times, the only rule is they all finish in time for the release. Hence all have the same end date. For now we will keep a single Scrum, Review and Retro.
This idea is combined with the open sprint to get the BA and UA functions out of the development Sprints.
So far, so good. The biggest notable advantage so far is that the variety of start times accomodated a couple of developers on leave. I’ll post more as we bed this in.
